My e-mail seems to be about half and half.

Half ‘wow this is awesome, thanks for all the things, I’m making progress, Jaaaaake’.  Sometimes I post some of them here in the blog, testimony that anyone sufficiently motivated (and patient) can take control over their own eyesight.

And then, the other half.

I used to wonder quite a bit if I wasn’t doing a good enough job with the blog, with those e-mails.  I don’t have one here to show you (they just go in the deleted folder pretty quickly), but the content is pretty repetitive.  ‘Help me Jake, I don’t know how to do it, does it work, what glasses do I need, where is the stuff’.

Surely I could do a much better job on that front.  Make a comic book style guided illustration PDF, something that wouldn’t require much reading or digging.  IKEA style instruction.

Alas, I’m an asshole.

That or the prospect of me doing even more work so they have to do even less, just doesn’t appeal all that much.  The odds of success are much greater when they invest (be it time or money), rather than when they’re simply handed everything.  Trust fund brats comes to mind.

Anyway.  Here’s a 12th grader from India, English as second language, and his assessment:

amit-blog-improves

Beautiful start, right?

So for all those claiming it’s too hard, reading and all, take Amit as your new baseline for winning-at-life.  Are you being outwitted by a teenage Indian boy, who can figure all this out (in a second language, no less)?

As for all the ophthalmologists and optometrists, and writers and professors and academic researchers, hand wringing about the global myopia epidemic .. perhaps it’s time to quit and take up something closer to the intellectual capabilities available.  Goat farming has a nice ring to it.

Lest we digress.  Of course it’s all here, the myopia answers.  Glad to lead the various horses to various waters, but drinking, as they say …

Up to you.  ;)

Housekeeping:  Blog title image, not related to anything.  Maybe just my silent envy of all those who live in places with easy access to quality psychedelics.

Cheers,
