Bad Jake!

Much like a graffiti artist defacing corporate art, you will find @endmyopia’s brush on more and more outlets where people might go to get real answers on eyesight health (title image, obviously photoshop).  Whenever you sell a bad bill of goods to a large enough group of people, sooner or later somebody is going to ask questions.

I can’t tell you why exactly, but it makes me personally happy to be this particular graffiti artist.  Maybe it’s the anti-corporate hippie gene …

Genetic shortsightedness.  Bit##es, please.  Here’s the original post on Quora.

And while this is all small fries in the big picture, I don’t really care about the big picture at all.  I’ve turned down several high profile offers for exposure the past few months.  My goal is to let those who look, find answers.  Shoving it in everyone elses face just strikes me as a recipe for becoming public enemy #1, which is less enticing.

Finding answers indeed is becoming easier, every day.  Endmyopia rises:

And while I’d concede that we might still not be entirely on point with having found a tone and style, it continues to get better.  Dry sarcasm makes me happy, and others (Despina, hi!) help moderate some of the rough edges.

And you know my absolute favorite part about the entire undertaking?

Giving people ways to not have to take your word for anything.  Google Scholar is fantastic for finding clinical studies, and in most cases myopia related topics are rather easily self-observed and validated.  Rather than lecturing people, giving them tools to start poking at the cracks in the establishment’s perceived infallibility.  That’s the fun stuff.

Housekeeping:  More video.  Because I’m a huge introvert and also not exactly fond of neither my face nor my video production skills, videos are the thing that’s always on the list and rarely gets done.

Look for more of that though, quite soon.

Cheers,

-Jake
