Here’s Paul’s progress report from the forum:

Hi Jake,

long overdue, but today I will add to your unicorn farm of progress reports, with some questions attached.

So how is it going?
I started at the End of July, so approximately 3,5 months into the program.

I started with prescriptions between -1.75 and -2.00 and I noticed my eyes were getting worse (that’s another reason I joined this program).

After some starting issues I did one lesson everyday and started to notice differences in focus and clarity.

Today I’m wearing my old glasses (which look stupid, but have the -1.25 on both eyes, which you recommended as a normalized prescription. I don’t have to buy new glasses for now, which is good).

In October I was on vacation for 3 weeks, which got me a lot of outdoor & distance vision, while minimizing my near focus. On the negative side I was wearing contact lenses all the time. Gladly I ordered the reduced prescriptions (-1.25) before leaving, otherwise my eyes would probably have worsened. (I also kept my centimeter log during this time, but did almost no active focus or anything else.)

I was a bit discouraged when I came back to see that my CM has decreased from the mid-60s to 58-60.

I still continued to measure, do the breaks and get outside. Which was good.

This morning I measured 70cm for the first time! This is amazing. I can see 20/20 on the eye chart with the normalized prescription and almost 20/16 in the morning. At the evening 20/20 as well (if I’m not on the PC all the time).

I’m still not doing the active focus enough and all the other exercises, but I want to include those as well in my routine (rereading some previous lessons).

My current goal is to get to -1.00 on both eyes, hopefully in the next few months. If it does take longer, that’s no problem.

Jake, I want to thank you again. This morning I read #49 on how to “prevent burnout” which was really encouraging. Thanks for finally giving me the chance to ditch those glasses for good, without getting lasik (which I was thinking about).

I hope we’ll one day meet in person so I can thank you then :).

I thought I had some questions up to this point, but not so far! I will post them if the come up again :)

Best,
Paul

Well done, Paul.

Low myopia is a particular challenge, something we’ll talk about a bit more, soon.  Not quite today, it being Saturday and babies crying and some (very confused about Asia and taxis and SIM cards) friends visiting from out of town.

Keep those eyeballs healthy!

Cheers,

-Jake
