Hi!

Getting the wrong diopteres is pretty common. Shockingly common, actually. But how common is it to get a -9.00 (a massive correction) when all you need is a -6.00?

My point is, what if you could see just as well with a 34% lower correction?

Let’s look at Shannon’s story. She went through exactly this experience (her comments ARE straight from the forum):

“I had been given incorrect diopters all year, and I thought it was just me and that my eyes were deteriorating. I have gone from a prescription of -9.0 1.0 and -8.75 1.25 to a -7.5 in both eyes with very little effort or strain in just one week (since participating in the program).

I would argue that I can actually see better now. I am extremely happy, especially because I was feeling upset about my eyesight and thinking there was no hope for me. My bad vision was making me feel like I couldn’t jog or do activities with these big glasses. Going to the optometrist these last couple of years has been really stressful and unhappy for me, as I would strain to see things and just go up in prescription, which was very unsettling. “

What Shannon is referring to is the things we talked about in days 1-7 of the free guide.

Of course, there’s a lot more detail in BackTo20/20 than in the quick e-mails to help guide you. At the end of the day, in a rather short amount of time, Shannon went from dangerously close to double digit myopia to a -7.5.  Much better.

Here’s what she has to say about her experience so far:

“My job is that I make online courses for universities, so I love self-directed learning. I would say that so far the course has been a completely transformative learning experience for me, because I didn’t know that myopia rehab was a possibility at all. It’s like being in a wheelchair, being told you’ll only get worse and that you have no control over your condition due to genetics, and then being told you can recover. I am absolutely loving this course conceptually because I find it to be very empowering and to teach participants to take their health into their own hands.

Additionally, learning about DIY and inexpensive glasses and contacts options has been empowering as well, since buying contacts and prescription glasses was a big expense for me. I am very motivated to improve, and the concepts have really stuck for me. Best of all, I no longer feel like the optometrist is some expert person—really even the contact girl would just try random prescriptions and ask me, can you see in this? I certainly did a better job by buying 4 boxes of disposables and trying them in different lighting. I will never go to an eye exam at the end of a computer, eye-strained work day ever again. I will instead save money, take my health into my own hands, and now I don’t need to worry about having blind children either!”

Honestly. That sounds like something made up for one of those pitch-perfect infomercials. But they are in fact Shannon’s own words. She also said:

“UPDATE – After 5 weeks at -6.5, I was feeling everything was quite clear. I went to my dad’s farm and looked around, and the leaves in the trees looked clearer than I had seen in the last couple of years with my full prescription. Everything is looking more beautiful than ever before.

This weekend, on my 5-week mark of my first prescription decrease, I have switched to a -6.0. I am feeling a lot more confident this time around, as I know what to expect, and don’t feel as nervous/fearful of the unknown. I have been pleasantly surprised that my eyes have rehabilitated faster and more easily that (sic) I anticipated. I am very pleased with my results—this program is well worth the money.

Here we are, five weeks in, and Shannon is happy with a -6.00 prescription.

Will you have the same experience? No, probably not. I really can’t promise that you’ll drop a rather epic 34% off your prescription in just over a month. That spectacular result was a combination of over prescription (though that’s very common and really not great for your eyes) and diligent work on Shannon’s part.

My more conservative estimate is that you’ll drop about 20% in 90 days, and 0.75 to 1.00 diopters each year thereafter.

That’s the thing with anything that’s real and actually related to health. There are no miracle cures. A healthy body means putting in the work. You might get lucky and make huge strides like Shannon did, or you might also get lucky and make the strides that are individual to you.

It’s your path, your eyes. Only you can have the experience.

Here’s what you can do today:

  1. Nothing. Close this page, have another sip of coffee. Send me an e-mail if you have questions. Just hit reply; your comment will come straight to my personal mailbox.
  2. Have the experience. Read your e-mails without needing glasses, in this lifetime. How awesome will that be?!
  3. The BackTo20/20 invite system tie-in to the e-mail system sucks (yeah, I know). So maybe it’s already full and you just get to a page that says, oops too late. Sometimes the spots all get taken the first day, sometimes there’s a couple of days till the last one is gone. It’s set up to hopefully trickle in a few each day (which is about to be over, no playing around). Clicky click, the program invite is only good for a few more days!

Cheers,
