Jakey’s no health blogger.

You don’t need me to be famous.  I wouldn’t look good in a beard anyway, and my Indian accent is pretty awkward.

What’s the goal of all this work, of #endmyopia, if not beards and Indian accents?

Here’s a possible mission statement:  We want an easily discoverable truth, by anyone afflicted by poor eyesight, that myopia isn’t an illness.

And there is an actual plan to get there.

Central to this plan, is you. You need to enjoy better eyesight, first and foremost.  You need the tools and insights to realize the optic shop is a sales scheme, that they are taking your eyesight from you and then leasing it back to you through glasses.

As you likely know by now, optometry is like a fort, built on billions of dollars in profit.  It’s not evil, just more or less a mindless system that nonetheless owns the credibility of “medical help”, owns the right to dispense “prescriptions”, owns the optometry students, medical students, the media ad budgets, the talking head lab coats.

And all that would sound like silly conspiracy right now, to a casual observer.

It does and it will continue to, until there is an army to oppose the industry missive of “oh, so sad too bad, your eyes are broken”.

Once there is a group to support for the message, the smaller, alternative health media can start talking about the truth about myopia.  Most behavioral optometrists or health book authors aren’t going to speak up until there’s reasonable assurance that he/she will get public support.

Not a whole lot you need to do to be part of of a successful, mindful, insightful opposition to eye health for profit.  Just be around to one day say “yup, the dude is right”, when other outlets start talking about myopia as a profit scheme (& follow me on Twitter, if you use the social media things).

Why should you bother?

Consider the alternative.  Do you want some credible looking guy, fancy titles and degrees, one day telling your kids that their eyes are broken?
