It’s perhaps a bit grandiose, the title “world tour”.  Intended to be a bit tongue in cheek (much like “eye guru”), it’s really just my usual trips to go visit students.  Mostly it’s an excuse to go see new places and not get stuck in endless routine.

Usually the world tour is pretty simple, since I end up having a home base somewhere central to upcoming months of visits.  So I might be staying in Berlin or Budapest for a few months to cover all of the Europe stops.  Likewise with the U.S. and Asia.

Things are a bit up in the air right now, however.

New baby is making things a little less simple.  I’m not sure that I’ll be up for the flights and time zone mayhem of flying to Europe for a week every month, and to the U.S.  And of course the temporary home base premise isn’t so workable right now either.

I don’t quite have a solution for this worked out yet, other than just taking it one day at a time.  Since Asia stops are an easy one to get done, we’ll just start with that.

I will be in Singapore for a week, in January.

Meetups as always, are all free.  Open to all members / students.  No promises, subject to my schedule and availability.  Bonus points and concessions if you’re willing to be part of some small, experimental video chats about your own experience, journey, thoughts, progress.

Maybe you’ll feel inclined to take a trip if you’re in the vicinity of Singapore, or wait for one of my next stops.  I’ll hopefully soon have a bit more of an advanced schedule so you can plan ahead if you’d like to meet up somewhere.  Tokyo is on the list for this spring, as is Bali, Taipei and Hong Kong.  As I get more details on the schedule, I’ll post it in the “World Tour” thread in the forum (pinned at the top).  If you have thoughts or preferences or ideas, please do post there.  The specifics of my Singapore trip are also in the thread.  Post or e-mail me for meetup requests!

Cheers,

-Jake
