What’s it like when you can just about see the no-glasses light at the end of the tunnel?
By this time next year, Ian’s going to be all … “glasses, what glasses”.
Interesting, how things have evolved.
First, back in the day, nobody cared (or knew of, let’s be honest) about @endmyopia. Then word got around slowly, and we were getting a lot of haters. If you’ve been around long enough, you remember the various drama moments with optometrists and ophthalmologists on Twitter and e-mails.
Most of them (and haters in general) have tucked their collective tails, since those days.
Now we’ve got a rapidly growing Facebook group, overwhelming support from participating apprentice eye guru kittehs, we’ve got participating optometrists, and lots and lots (and lots) of success stories.
People are always going to doubt you, when you step outside of mainstream doctrine, or not doing whatever the neighbors are doing. And then you have the Ian’s of the world, who say f##k it, I’m going to try something different. Sure, that’s the way to fall on your face, or learn about the various dead ends in life.
But it’s also the way you may end up precisely like Ian, with a very plausible dream of experiencing the next summer … beautifully clear, 20/20 natural eyesight. A life free of glasses.
To you Ian, and all you kittehs working on your 20/20 gains. Next summer will be a great one. :)
Cheers,
-Jake
