I was really struggling with the active focus this week. It just seemed to be harder work, like a real strain on the eyes, whereas I usually get it really easily. My eyes felt like they were sort of ‘locked’. I even started swapping my contact lenses round, thinking maybe they were in the wrong eyes (they are 0.50 different so it can be hard to tell).

But today, after an hour long walk on the beach, focusing on the ships, the horizon, with no phone in my pocket, my focus is back. Everything comes clear again, just like before. It’s been a busy week for close work this week, and I haven’t been outdoors much I now realise. I was neglecting my new habits a bit. It was unintentional, I was just too busy.

So if you are tempted to skip parts of the program, thinking they are unnecassary, think again. Or if you are too busy, make time for it somehow. Every part of the program is there for a reason.
