Just Call It What It Is: LENS SALES
From one of the ump-teen crappy news sites (with some comments in red. don't know how those got there):The importance of children's eye exams...LAWTON, Okla._School starts in just a few days, so a local civic club is doing their part to get kids prepared by screening their eyes to see if they need glasses.svreening -> glasses. not: screening -> assess lifestyle -> prevention talk -> if absolutely necessary, glasses. Lawton Lions Clubs helped examine the kids at the Armed Services YMCA [...]
(Video) Q&A: How To Start The Day Off Without Glasses
Quick video Q&A again today. (because, thanks for the thumbs ups!)This one, from a question Ernest asks in the forum:I always start out new participants with a little morning activity. Which is, 20 minutes without glasses, first and before anything else. Optometry wants you NOT to think too much about what's going on, and how you become a prisoner to their ever increasing prescriptions.I want the opposite, for you. Empowerment and awareness, instead of thoughtless routine and trusting sales people [...]

Latest one in an ongoing series of attempts of doing video Q&A.Contents:Recognize the difference between blur & double visionHow to deal with double visionLeverage double vision to improve your eyesightRandom sequences of the (failed) park locationJakey yikes-morning faceIs video the largest ever procrastination project I've pretended to be serious work? Probably. Definitely. But if you too need excuses to procrastinate, with the flimsiest of pretenses, then this is my contribution to your day. Watch videos pretending you're busy learning new things. And [...]
#@#% Sugar & How Pericarditis “Treatment” Almost Killed Me
Off-topic Sunday.Have I ever mentioned how much I'm not a fan of the fruit hippie superfood-yoga-mediation movement? Which makes this little story (of how I may well almost have died) all the more ironic. Many years ago, I had a thing called acute pericarditis. Lining of the heart, diagnosed as having to be surgically removed. They told me that the outcome could be "complicated". And as it turns out, they were really badly wrong. Good thing I didn't listen to them. This [...]
Don’t Flip-Flop Between Old & New Glasses
Richard asks in the forum:I received my new glasses and they are defintiely going to take some getting used to. Even with the -3.0 on the left eye, without the astigmatism correction the right is clearer. It was more comfortable to have my regular glasses and add the +1.25 but I guess it is all a process and I will adjust to these. Should I go back and forth for a week or so until I get used to it?I always suggest [...]
The Two Sides Of The Blur Horizon
[fusion_alert type="custom" accent_color="#ffffff" background_color="#dd3333" border_size="1px" icon="fa-eye" box_shadow="yes" animation_type="0" animation_direction="down" animation_speed="0.1" class="" id=""]Note: Advanced reader topic / program notes.[/fusion_alert]We often talk about the importance of clear vision. This is to put in perspective my frequent lamentations about the overprescription paradigm of mainstream optometry. Just because they overprescribe doesn't mean that you should go t0o far into the opposite direction with glasses. Simply not wearing glasses at all isn't the answer either.(And neither is the crazy hours long close-up focusing activities I get [...]
