quotes-blueMy job is that I make online courses for universities, so I love self-directed learning. I would say that so far the course has been a completely transformative learning experience for me because I didn’t know that myopia rehab was a possibility at all. It’s like being in a wheelchair, being told you’ll only get worse, and that you have no control over your condition due to genetics, and then being told you can recover. I am absolutely loving this course conceptually because I find it to be very empowering and to teach participants to take their health into their own hands.

I had been given incorrect prescriptions all year and I thought it was just me and that my eyes were deteriorating. I have gone from a prescription of -9.0 1.0 and -8.75 1.25 to a -7.5 in both eyes with very little effort or strain in just one week. I would argue that I can actually see better now. I am extremely happy, especially because I was feeling upset about my eyesight and thinking there was no hope for me. My bad vision was making me feel like I couldn’t jog or do activities with these big glasses. Going to the optometrist these last couple of years has been really stressful and unhappy for me as I would strain to see things, and just go up in prescription which was very unsettling.

Additionally, learning about DIY and inexpensive glasses and contacts options has been empowering as well since buying contacts and prescription glasses was a big expense for me. I am very motivated to improve, and the concepts have really stuck for me. Best of all, I no longer feel like the optometrist is some expert person – really even the contact girl would just try random prescriptions and ask me – can you see in this? I certainly did a better job by buying 4 boxes of disposables and trying them in different lighting. I will never go to an eye exam at the end of a computer eye strained work day ever again. I will instead, save money, take my health into my own hands, and now I don’t need to worry about having blind children either!”

That sums it up nicely!   ❤️

Keep those eyes happy, it’s so easy to do with just a little time and care.
