Starting Point: Low Myopia

Congratulations.  You literally have the least amount of myopia of anybody following the beardly method.  But still it’ll take you a little while to make it back to 20/20.

Which having made it here before you ended up with high myopia (like many), is fortuitous for you.  The so-called professionals have told you that your eyes just aren’t good enough and that you definitely need their amazing product.  They’d keep telling you this while your myopia may well be continually increasing (especially if you’re staring young).

But now you are here to get a different idea about myopia … skeptical ideally, open-minded, hopefully.

By now you likely found out that  retail optometry knows that minus lenses cause myopia and that myopia in most cases isn’t an illness at all.  Myopia is usually nothing more than a refractive state, meaning that your eyes simply adapted to both strain (from close-up) and stimulus (of the wrong kind, from minus lenses).

Oops.  And you may look and find more and more articles on the subject, realizing that you’re neither hopeless, nor broken.

That part isn’t really in question, at least not once you explore a bit of the clinical science and studies that can easily be found on Google Scholar.  The real question is, is Cooky VonJakenstein off his regal rocker, or is this particular dirty stock trader and capitalist Schweinehund on to something, with all this talk about reversing myopia?

This is the question.  Is endmyopia just more Internet unicorn farming, or is it the real deal?

Spoiler alert, at the very least it’s run by a amusingly deranged creature of the beard.

But whatever.  What counts is results, and so let’s look at some results for those who started out just like you:

Low Myopia Progress Updates

20/20 Gains: Mark Reduces From -2.50 To -1.50

Today let's look at an e-mail from Mark, who is getting well and nicely comfortable outside of the mainstream single prescription paradigm.  Great to see people learning about their eyes, about optic, about myopia! Look at a sane and appropriate use of lenses here, as described by Mark: Jake,   I'm writing to you to give you an overview of my progress (as it's exactly a year since I subscribed) and ask a couple of questions.   I've [...]

Hugh (-2.50) Reduces Myopia 40%, Nobody Believes Him

I'm about to get huge trapezius muscles, from all the shrugging I do while reading e-mails (and now also various Youtube and Quora comments - thanks ya'll, talking me into doing Youtube). Here, what I'm talking about: You know how much that sucks, for Hugh? Imagine you find a possible fix for your pesky myopia.  You go out on a limb, against all of what the mainstream says, and you try it.  You go through the trouble of [...]

Kristina Did It! (18 Year Old High School Student Reverses Myopia)

You want to know what tangible success looks like?  How about six months to reduce a full diopter in lens prescriptions?   Big deal, you think.  You show us these stories all the time, Jake. But this one is Kristina, who is an 18 year old high school student.  And before anyone gets their huff-pants on about how age doesn't matter, let me just interrupt that right now.  We've actually got a strict minimum age of [...]

Johnny: -5.50 To No-Glasses 20/20 (In Two Years)

Johnny posts his latest update in the forum: Hi everyone, time for an update on my progress Well this is the big one….the short version of it is that I’ve stopped wearing correction completely during the day! Even though this has been something beyond my wildest dreams for years and years when it actually happened it felt like a non-event. I feel I should be more excited but it wasn’t a huge jump in terms of [...]

Omar: Reduced From -1.00 To -0.25 (In Six Months!)

You know what is amazing? We could literally do only eyesight improvement stories, and cover every single day of the blog.  We're actually pretty close to where we could do only eyesight improvement stories from just blog readers (not even students), and cover every single day. That's huge.  Oh boy, I can't resist right now ... Right?! Anyway.  This one is interesting because it's low myopia, which really takes getting everything right, not being torn by doubts of [...]

Optometrist Forced To Admit: She’s Legal To Drive!

This is a bit of a crazy story, that Stefanie is telling.  Strap in, because she went from, what, 20/70 to 20/40 in a month?  Legal to drive with a 1.5 diopter lowered prescription?  Is that even possible?  What is going on over here, in wizard land? Check this out: The title here was a bit clickbait-ey, I admit it.  The optometrist is obviously pretty cool. Look at those numbers, though!  February, we're starting with a -8.5 [...]
