I have been meaning to write a proper article discussing close-up breaks. It’s an important subject and one that Alex never quite put a finer point on. There are some pretty specific numbers that will give you the most for your close-up break time. It’s very due, and I promise we’ll talk about it soon.
But first … another topic that oft occupies my e-mail inbox.

There are one-off e-mails. And then there are thematic things, that come up over and over. For those I am looking for better solutions, to reduce the questions volume and also make it easier for you to find answers on the site.
The resurgence of the FAQ and the new Q&A might occupy some of those spaces.
Another one that comes up a lot, is community discussion. People want to discuss in the forum. Alas, the current forum is specifically intended as support to course participants. That’s how Alex set it up and it’s quite integrated into the workflow. It would be pretty difficult to just open it all up. It would likely end up taking too much time for therapists to keep moderating all posts, and then course participants would get frustrated. Can’t have that.
But the e-mails keep coming. We want to participate! I hear you. So we put it up, a community branch of the forum. It’s completely experimental and very likely to adapt to how it gets used.
Whether it’ll become an ongoing feature of the site will depend entirely on how well it works out around the premise of this project. Quality of discussion, moderation needs, whether the code will blow up, it’ll all be a factor. For now, feel free to try it out if you are a regular reader, and let’s see where it goes.
Behold, the as yet blank canvass of the community forum. ;-)
Cheers,
– Jake
