It Takes Time To Get Back To 20/20.
And as most beardly sages will tell you, the path is the goal. Or something.
In this subject matter it’s every diopter that matters, they’re all milestones that will give you a better vision experience than the previous, higher diopters. -10 diopter myopia is nothing like -5 diopter myopia. At -10 you can barely wear glasses, your field of vision is seriously compromised, everything is smaller and more distorted. -5 looks like super high definition magic 8K reality, compared to -10.
And -4 is nothing like -2. At -2 you almost don’t need glasses for close-up, and you’re likely to get clear flashes even without glasses. And once you get to the last diopter, you can be without glasses in good outdoor lighting, and likely experience increasing amounts of great eyesight.
I also wrote several posts on the rate of improvement, and also did a quick and as-usual rambling video on the “how fast” question:
All that said, because newbies always ask this question (and who can blame them), here’s some updates from darling students who made it all the way to 20/20, or are just about there.
Because yes of course, you can (and should) go all the way back to 20/20. So enjoy some of the 20/20 gains reports here below.
20/40 To 20/20 Range Improvement Updates:
Teddy: From -3.00 To 20/20 Without Glasses
Here's a type of question we get regularly: "Hey Jake. I see lots of people's improvement stories, but what about getting back to actual 20/20?" Valid inquiry, this. Here's what happens, for some perspective. A large majority of the many progress reports are all about work in progress. Diopters reduced, 20/20 gains made. Consider that a person may have dozens [...]
Overnight High Myopia Shock: 5 Year Old Goes From 20/20 To -5.00D!
Imagine, you have a young boy. Everything is all fine and great, boys will be boys. Until one day, that is. One day which is today when he comes running up to you and says, all scared sounding and confused: Daddy, I can't see! Yikes! You're freaking out, naturally. Freaking out and taking the little one to the optometrist [...]
Bill’s Myopia Is Almost Gone! From -1.25 Down To -0.25 Diopters
Here's another low myopia progress report, today from Bill (who is also part of our FB group): Almost there. If you have low myopia, you might want to do a quick search for "endmyopia low myopia" and look around the many guides on the topic specifically. While your eyes respond the same to strain and stimulus in theory, in practice [...]
Melissa: 20/30 To 20/13 In A Few Months … Woohoo!
Melissa posts over in our darling Facebook group: Nice work, Melissa. Knowledge is power, dear kittehs. If you don't want to be an invalid for life, addled with glasses today, decimated by glaucoma, lattice degeneration, and retinal detachment later, then you need the knowledges about the myopia truths. Pay now or pay later ... up to you, like they say [...]
Chris: Drivers License Glasses Condition – Removed!
There are a lot of ways to quantify your guru-riffic progress with myopia reduction. One of them, getting the "corrective lenses required" bit removed from your driver's license. Bye-bye state recognized driving handicap and required crutches. Trust your original, real eyeballs again, good to go, even according to the powers in charge. You don't think of this necessarily, when you're [...]
From Glasses To No-Glasses 20/20 Vision
Every so often I'm asked whether students actually make it out of glasses and back to real, uncorrected 20/20. Of course they do. Figure that only a relatively small percentage post progress updates (I can't really complain, I'd probably be a non-poster myself), and that average myopia is at least 4-6 diopters for most people. That's several years of progress [...]
