New Rules: Forum Membership
So far there has been no firm rule on who can get onto the forum to contribute, ask questions, and to get support. The problem with non-participant forum members is that many questions that come up from them, are answered in much detail in the paid program (as well as the blog and forum). Of course, I did not want to require money, for support. So that bit of a conundrum has just been left open. But now, I have a solution to suit all! [...]
The Swirling Myths Around Alex
I don't know what it is exactly, and perhaps it's just that time of the year. While many months may go by, and thousands of e-mails with questions specific to myopia, suddenly now I get messages of an entirely different nature. Messages musing about the scheme to accumulate great wealth from this program. Fears, that the paid program must a trap, dragging the unsuspecting participant deep into the lair of never ending installments Queries about me, an international (and possibly Chinese) man of mystery [...]
Best Fonts For Astigmatism
I recently received an interesting e-mail: Since I just read the topic about asigmatism in your forum, i am interested in designing the suitable font for them in need. However, i do not suffer asigmatism so i do not have the clue to build the most suitable font. Is the font needs to be bolder or sharper? Or is there any other advice so i can make the right font? I need advice from expertise in asigmatism and i believe you are the right person [...]
The Goal Case And the Trophy Case
Lately I have been having a case of Internet, Website, and e-mail fatigue. It just never ends! In a practice in the physical world, an office, we take generous amounts of time off. You wouldn't see me for the better part of July and August. I would be gone all of December, and part of January. And in between, there would be a week here, a week there of someone filling in for me. Not so, with the Web. The Web is every day! Sundays, [...]
Why Does Nobody Talk About Myopia Rehab?
I get this question a lot, and consistently. It is probably the biggest reason that people are highly skeptical about the premise of rehabilitation. Let me illustrate they 'why', with some images: This is the 5 year stock trend for Essilor. Wikipedia describes the company this way: Essilor International S.A. is a French company that produces ophthalmic lenses along with ophthalmic optical equipment. It is based in Paris, France, and quoted on the Euronext Paris Stock Exchange. As one of the 40 largest companies traded in Paris, it is a component of the CAC 40 share index. Essilor is [...]
Hao: Improving 1 Diopter Per Year
Hao writes in the forum:I’ve been myopic since grade school. I started wearing glasses at 12 yo, -2.25/-2.25 at the time. Around this time last year, February 2013, I went to the optometrist and was prescribed -4.75OD/-5.25OS, with -1.00/-0.50 astigmatism corrections, respectively. I was scared that my visual acuity would keep getting worse and worse. Plus, the new glasses didn’t feel right. I thought my eyes were telling me they were too strong. So I started looking into myopia rehab and subsequently found livestrong.com blog and [...]
