Starting Point: Low Myopia

Congratulations.  You literally have the least amount of myopia of anybody following the beardly method.  But still it’ll take you a little while to make it back to 20/20.

Which having made it here before you ended up with high myopia (like many), is fortuitous for you.  The so-called professionals have told you that your eyes just aren’t good enough and that you definitely need their amazing product.  They’d keep telling you this while your myopia may well be continually increasing (especially if you’re staring young).

But now you are here to get a different idea about myopia … skeptical ideally, open-minded, hopefully.

By now you likely found out that  retail optometry knows that minus lenses cause myopia and that myopia in most cases isn’t an illness at all.  Myopia is usually nothing more than a refractive state, meaning that your eyes simply adapted to both strain (from close-up) and stimulus (of the wrong kind, from minus lenses).

Oops.  And you may look and find more and more articles on the subject, realizing that you’re neither hopeless, nor broken.

That part isn’t really in question, at least not once you explore a bit of the clinical science and studies that can easily be found on Google Scholar.  The real question is, is Cooky VonJakenstein off his regal rocker, or is this particular dirty stock trader and capitalist Schweinehund on to something, with all this talk about reversing myopia?

This is the question.  Is endmyopia just more Internet unicorn farming, or is it the real deal?

Spoiler alert, at the very least it’s run by a amusingly deranged creature of the beard.

But whatever.  What counts is results, and so let’s look at some results for those who started out just like you:

Low Myopia Progress Updates

Ian’s -1.50 D Progress: “Dream Of Being Glasses Free By Summer”

What's it like when you can just about see the no-glasses light at the end of the tunnel? Ian is getting close: By this time next year, Ian's going to be all ... "glasses, what glasses". Interesting, how things have evolved. First, back in the day, nobody cared (or knew of, let's be honest) about @endmyopia.  Then word got around slowly, and we were getting a lot of haters.  If you've been around long enough, you remember the [...]

Bill’s Myopia Is Almost Gone! From -1.25 Down To -0.25 Diopters

Here's another low myopia progress report, today from Bill (who is also part of our FB group):  Almost there. If you have low myopia, you might want to do a quick search for "endmyopia low myopia" and look around the many guides on the topic specifically.  While your eyes respond the same to strain and stimulus in theory, in practice it's worth adapting a few new habits when you're in low myopia territory. Nice work, Bill! [...]

Dmitriy’s Progress Update: -2.5 Now Down To -0.75 (at 20/15)

Low myopia progress, always a tricky beast.   We talk about it quite a bit, in articles here, here, here, and here and even here.  If you dig in the free guides, you'll find lots of help to get you sorted on improving low myopia. Like Dmitriy: You'll never fail at this, if you keep at it. Here's the FB thread.  Stick with it.  Much easier if you started with higher myopia and have that reference point [...]

Melissa: 20/30 To 20/13 In A Few Months … Woohoo!

Melissa posts over in our darling Facebook group: Nice work, Melissa. Knowledge is power, dear kittehs. If you don't want to be an invalid for life, addled with glasses today, decimated by glaucoma, lattice degeneration, and retinal detachment later, then you need the knowledges about the myopia truths.  Pay now or pay later ... up to you, like they say in these parts.   It'll be much more expensive later. Today it's just a visit to [...]

Chris: Drivers License Glasses Condition – Removed!

There are a lot of ways to quantify your guru-riffic progress with myopia reduction. One of them, getting the "corrective lenses required" bit removed from your driver's license.  Bye-bye state recognized driving handicap and required crutches.  Trust your original, real eyeballs again, good to go, even according to the powers in charge. You don't think of this necessarily, when you're used to decades of wearing glasses.  You don't have any idea how liberating it is to [...]

(Low Myopia): 1/2 Diopter Ratio Left – Kellee Almost Equalized

Pro topic.  Meaning, ... you know what pro topic means. Equalizing is a big part of reducing focal plane complexity of your glasses.  Lots of equalizing posts in the blog, including here, here, here, here, and also here.  Tons of actionable research material in the free guides here, all you need is a bit of patience in piecing things together. And of course, equalizing is awesome, as Kellee attests to in the forum: Very awesome, right?  (full [...]
