How many of the same questions do I answer, over and over, in the forum?

I’m so used to decades of answering the same questions thousands of times, that I often forget how this Internet thing can work so much more efficiently.  I could just answer it once, properly, and then refer back to that answer.  There is no need to repeat the same thing, thousands of times, in the forum.  You know though, what they say about old dogs …

Well, finally today after doing this same thing on here for a few years, the old dog managed to get one more piece of the #endmyopia Method into an actual article.

Inspired by Ryan posting his first normalized prescription question in the forum, I put together a bit of a structured approach for the normalized prescription.  If you follow the support forum, you probably saw me say this in various forms a few hundred times – the approach really is important though, to give you the best perspective and opportunity with normalized prescription.

Particularly relevant in Ryan’s case (and everyone who appears to be overprescribed), is that first reduction can be a notable step in reduction.  It often makes sense to get close to a whole diopter in reduction (though I caution to go beyond 0.75 at any one time).  The issue with that big reduction in particular is how your brain will perceive the change.  To get a positive experience there, taking a morning of proper introduction to a new prescription will define your experience with it for the whole time you use it.

Note here too that subsequent prescription reductions are rarely more than 0.25 at any given time – much less of a change than the initial one.  Still you want to keep the habit of a bit of a ritual for the prescription change, which you can find here:

Enjoy!
