Here are some of the e-mails of the day, for your amusement.

First up Brian, who has been stuck with high myopia and consequential complications threatening his eyesight.  Vitreous detachment, no fun if you ever experience it, and a serious wake-up call about the possibility of living a life without seeing the world around you.

Unfortunately nobody told Brian about prevention, about the reversible nature of axial elongation of the eyeball, of stimulus-based therapy.  Fortunately, Brian found @endmyopia:

That’s how you go from resignation, to hope, and empowerment.

Next up, Michael.  Michael used @endmyopia to make progress to the point where he no longer needs reading glasses at all, and his myopia appears to have reduced as well.  Still all he encounters is disbelief, which seems to be the base state of people who never accomplish anything in their own lives.

Not Michael, he takes the proverbial myopia bull by the horns, and gets the due rewards:

Like I always say, don’t listen to the nay-sayers.

Sure, some things can’t be done by anyone.  Other things can’t be done by some people.  And other things still, won’t be tried by those who sit on their lazy asses, and rather whine and complain than get up and take some action.

I’ve got a pretty amazing (for me at least) recent cholesterol story, another thing that doctors told me was impossible (cholesterol is genetic, it’s produced by the body, etc etc bla bla).  Maybe we’ll talk about that in some off-topic post (it’s already over in the forum, and I’m honestly more than just a little excited about the results).  Did I listen to others about what I couldn’t do?  Screw that, I learned not to take no for an answer with myopia, years ago.  There’s the hair loss story, which is new and in progress and highly off-topic, and  … we’ll see.  But I’ve got a bunch of tree bits and leaves from the Burmese jungle, a place where I saw first hand every old man with teenger-like hair.  They swear by those tree bits.  Will it work on me?  Hey, fine either way, but I’m going to try for myself rather than let others weak-minded sense of what’s possible dictate my actions and exploring of life’s possibilities.

And your life.  Find out what you can do, for yourself.  Also check out this log-tool generated forum signature (Michelle’s, was it?):

375reduced

I’ve got a feeling that there’s a date entered incorrectly there, somewhere.  4 months is pretty short for almost 4 diopters reduction!  ;)

If you’re in the forum though, you might notice how here and there forum signatures start populating with … data!  That’s pretty exiting stuff, hopefully we’ll keep seeing more of that (and I’ll be sure to keep up on revisions to make sure it all gets more user friendly as we get experience with it).

Housekeeping:  My Macbook, after a few years of surviving all sorts of mayhem, finally died.  It seems an awkward time to buy a new one since everybody keeps saying a big, major refresh is due in the next couple of months.  So I’m on a Windows thing, which is definitely not in my comfort zone, and it doesn’t have my favorite video editing software either.  Boo!

All that to say, possibly less videos for a bit, unless I can get myself to use Premiere again.

Lots of new stuff over in the forum, most interesting possibly two low-myopia questions I answered in some detail, with some of my favorite tricks to go from the -1.50 range to not wearing glasses most of the time (while having fun doing it).  Go check it out, if you’ve got forum access!

Cheers,

-Jake
