You may have noticed a number of changes on the site this week.  Let’s run down what has changed, and is on the schedule to be done:

More Forum View Options

forum-view-options

This one is arguably not exactly a necessity, but if you feel curious about what topics are most popular, this selection is available on the main forum page, as well as the footer of the site.

There are a number of small bug fixes also to speed up the forum, and get rid of some pesky errors.

Forum registration is still open to all, though I prefer that you have some experience with our method – it has not been a problem so far, so we will leave it as is for the time being.

Better Blog Posts

I have been promising this for a while, and it is now on the day to day agenda:

More tips and suggestions, more excerpts from program installments.  Especially if you have done the Vision Improvement Course before, you will find more reminders, practices, and tips in the blog.

My hope is also to find time to post as many as six new articles every week (leaving one day off). This may not always be the case, but it is the goal.  I have a long list of subjects already created, so at least for the next few months, there should be plenty of content to keep you motivated (and entertained).

Real Newsletter

There was one, more than a year ago, where I would manually send out an occasional e-mail.  And then … it fell off the list of functioning parts of the site.

Now it is back, with more ability under the hood.  Namely, it will be able to automatically send new tips to new subscribers, as well as manage subscriptions more efficiently.

The various newsletter subscription suggestions are still in the tweaking stage, feel free to leave feedback.

I also have some very good newsletter only content, such as the free Vision Improvement Program (mini four part course), and various tips both for participants as well as casual readers, to minimize eyestrain, and improve your eyesight.

More Youth / Child Myopia Content

This one comes up in my e-mail a lot, requests for more youth related content.  Of course there is a whole blog category for child myopia already, and I will put more time into expanding this aspect.

You will see more of this in the Vision Improvement Course, as well as the blog, and of course newsletter content as well.

Especially since children are more easily distracted (but also much more creative and engaged when motivated), the flow of suggestions here is important to keep your child’s eyesight health on track.  For that also, this next one should be helpful:

#endmyopia Twitter

This will take me a while to get the hang of.

You can follow me on Twitter (@MyopiaRehab).  There will be some sidebar items to make this easy with a link, in the coming weeks.

There is no content there yet, but I plan to have it available for you for quick reminders, small tips, let you know when new articles are posted, and various eyesight health related … tweets.

More Myopia Side Effects Topics

Myopia is what we are all about here.

But other troubles rear their heads when we overstrain our eyes (for years), which deserve a bit of discussion as well.  You might have noticed a slowly developing focus on astigmatism related topics in the blog.  That is just the beginning of some expansion into the various other subjects you may have e-mailed me about.

More Everything Else

There is still the pending matter of the Paypal-based credit card alternative (hopefully all taken care of in the coming weeks), we have my Christmas Present To You up and running, the site is faster than ever, and the very encouraging feedback on your eyesight improving is accumulating in the blog (from your forum posts).  You may also notice (somewhat less than obvious), a new comment section available under new blog posts.  This one is here on a trial basis, let’s see if it adds to the discussion.

All of this spells no-tropical-beaches-and-lazy-days for Alex.

But based on your feedback, e-mails, requests, and support of this project, it has become apparent to me that I can’t leave it at posting an improvement course and then riding off into the sunset.

Thank you for all the e-mails, thank you in particular for supporting others in the forum (very, very much appreciating those), and your kind patience when things don’t quite work as they should.

Enjoy a nice December, and look forward to lots more myopia reducing content in 2014!
