I’m cheating today.  It’s almost 11PM and my very first chance to get in front of any sort of computer.  The Internet is painfully slow.  I just managed to get through forum questions and e-mails, and I’m exhausted.

So here’s the short post today, since it’s “daily blog” and all.

If you’re part of the Twitter army, you maybe already saw this one.  Originally mentioned by a student, there’s a very easy and useful way to get your hands on a diopter measuring solution.  I didn’t think of this at all, and it might be handy for lots of readers.

As you probably know, diopters and inverse meters have an interesting relationship.  You probably know that I suggest you get a small flexible measuring tape to measure your centimeters to figure out who many diopters of prescription you might need.

You can print out a measuring tape at home, for which I provide the file here (somewhere) on the site.  Or you can buy one at a fabric store (ideal size for the task).

Or, you can use IKEA:

I didn’t consider previously that the paper measuring tapes IKEA gives away are indeed just about perfect as well!  Plenty of range, light weight, free, and IKEA does seem to pop up in most metropolitan areas.  So you just need to make quick stop over there, eat some highly questionable Swedish meatballs, grab a few of those measuring tapes, and you’re your own home-optometrist office.

Nice trick yea?

That’s it for tonight.  A demain!

Cheers,
