quotes-blueJust to let you all know (or whoever is following this) that I have stepped down to -2.50 about a month ahead of expectations.  Double vision was vastly reduced and almost gone. Thinking about it my eye did feel a bit strained….so I tried wearing a -2.50 lens. Amazingly things weren’t that blurred. This surprised me. Now a few days later I am seeing consistently 20/20 with a little bit of double vision but certainly nothing like my previous attempt at -2.50. Stoked. I’m just about upto a year since I started rehab and couldn’t be happier. My aim of getting below -2.00 this year is well within grasp and I can’t wait to get there.

I talk to so many people about myopia, all the time.  Something has become painfully obvious, as the years pile on:

Nobody can believe that there isn’t some surgery necessary, some pill to eat, some product to buy.

For-profit medicine has become so arrogant and entitled and pervasive, that it caused us to loose our faith in our own bodies.  We honestly believe that the guy in the lab coat and an invention from the 16th century (glasses) has a better answer than our own, amazingly complex and sophisticated eyes (and brain).

We lost the trust in our own bodies to function properly.

That’s the real travesty in all of this, as far as my own experience goes.  People don’t trust their bodies.  It’s really very sad if you think about it, as you have to externalize your idea about your health and hand it over to some medical person, along with your credit card.

My own experience recovering my eyesight has given me something important beyond seeing well again, that I hope we get to share with you here.  It’s the knowledge that your body can be trusted to function properly, given the chance to do so.

Get your eyesight back, along with some faith in your own body!

Cheers,

– Jake

PS.   Coming soon, the first of a small series of books to help with your eyesight.  They will be inexpensive, just enough to cover basic costs.  You’re welcome to review copies if you have a blog or site, and anyone who participated in any of the courses of course can also get a free copy.  More on that, soon.
