This is a relevant subject if you are either considering the myopia rehab program, or are currently in the first or second month.

The question is: Where should you be, at the end of the first thirty installments?

It takes most participants about six to eight weeks to make it to the key installment that wraps up the ‘first month’. Installment #30 discusses the normalized prescription, which is the culmination of all the learning, measurements, and insights you have gained from the previous lessons. It is key, as with that installment you have reached a point from which you can continue to work on vision improvement without the guidance of this program.

Of course the program continues on to cover a range of topics, aids, and motivational components. But, for all intents and purposes, just getting through to #30 gives you all the tools you need to stop myopia progression and to reverse its effects.

There are four key lessons you should be taking away from this core of the Adult Myopia Web Program:

One – The Cause

Understanding how close-up affects your own eyes, and witnessing the factual and measurable impact on your eyesight just over the course of a single day, is key. You learn how to do your own eyesight measurements, and understand the results you produce.

Once you see first hand what strain does to your eyes, you have more motivation to do something about it.

With this knowledge also comes awareness. You will begin to be able to interpret the subtle cues your eyes provide in response to strain. Since close-up strain is the primarily cause of myopia, and rehab is impossible without correcting the cause first, this experience is crucial to your vision improvement success.

Two – Active Focus

Once we are clear about the cause, not just theoretically but having proven it to yourself with measurements, we begin working on eliminating the problem.

Understanding the difference between close-up, middle distance, and distance vision is an important part of this process. Along with that, lessons on how to effectively create and maintain healthy distances help us progress into the next stage of the program.

A lot of this process is about changing habits, rather than just ‘eye exercises’. Success comes from replacing bad habits with positive ones, which is fundamental to the #endmyopia approach to eyesight rehabilitation.

We also get into the key habit of working at the ‘edge of blur’, which creates active focus. As you spend more of your time in active focus, combined with the other elements of the core program, your eyesight begins to notably improve.

Three – The Differential Prescription

There is the myopia you get from too much close-up focus, and then there is the myopia you get from too much close-up focus while wearing your prescription lenses. The latter is far more dangerous, harmful, and leading to the spiral of progressive axial myopia that probably already afflicts your eyesight.

Once we have conquered the topics of eye strain and better distance habits, we need to change your perceived relationship to prescription lenses.

The topics related to this aspect help cover what the prescription actually does, understanding whether you are prescribed correctly, and what correction is necessary for which distance.

One pair of glasses does not cover your various distances correctly!

A great benefit of the core program is that you become empowered to make your own, educated prescription choices, rather than having to trust and rely on a potentially profit motivated optic shop.

Once you have a proper differential prescription for your close-up needs, you have stopped most of the myopia creating strain. The three aforementioned components are now serving to protect your eyesight, no matter how much or little you chose to further venture into vision improvement.

Four – The Normalized Prescription

By six to eight weeks into the program, you have done enough focus work that your vision has already begun improving. This, combined with your understanding how to chose your own prescriptions, and the fact that you were likely over prescribed to begin with, brings us to the Normalized Prescription.

This prescription replaces your previous glasses, from before you began the program. They should be about 15 to 25% lower in severity than before – a marked improvement, creating less strain, enabling you to further continue to improve your eyesight.

I designed this program to enable you to fully understand and direct your own vision improvement. Rather than replacing one dependency with another, I want you to get better eyesight, on your own terms.

Important to understand here is that while the core program is intense at times, as it is filled with a lot of information, the outcome does not mean much commitment on your part. From the first thirty installments you simply get two prescriptions instead of one, and a few simple habit changes. It is a very small net change that adds up to you experiencing better eyesight.
